DAY 1: CUSCO – OCONGATE – TINKI
Our tour begins at 6:00 am. via bus from Cusco to Ocongate, then we will depart towards the town of Tinki, passing through picturesque villages along the Huatanay river valley and beautiful areas of cultivated land. We will camp in the vicinity of Tinki. L / D
DAY 2: TINKI – UPIS
After breakfast, very early we start our walk towards the foothills of the majestic Ausangate Mountain (6372m) appreciating traditional customs of the natives. We will also have the chance to enjoy the presence of South American camelids such as Llamas, Alpacas, Paqochas. Towards the end, we will visit the small town of Upis (4140m), and then we head toward the area of the hot springs where we will set camp (at the foothills of a snow-cap). B / L / D
DAY 3: UPIS – PUKAQOCHA LAGOON
After breakfast, very early, we will journey through the Arapa Pass (4700m) descend to the Pucacocha lagoons known by the names of Khatun Pucacocha, Viracocha and Huchuy Pucacocha, and magnificent landscapes where we will appreciate different species of Andean birds, camping on the banks of the lagoon. DAY 4: PUCACOCHA LAGOONS – PALOMANI PASS – CHILCAPINAYA
Today we will see the glacier effects of Mount Ausangate, ascend to the Alcatani Pass(4650m) and continue our journey descending toward the Ausangatecocha lagoon, and from there we then climb to the Palomani Pass (5050m) where we have views of pure stunning beauty, then we descend to Chilcapinaya where we will camp out. DAY 5: CHILCAPINAYA – JAMPA VALLEY – PACHASPATA
We continue our journey along Jampa Valley where we appreciate Andean people in costumes native of the region and alpacas, sheep, llamas, spotted paca, and then ascend to our last pass (4600m), to observe the beautiful lagoon of Ticllacocha and the pampa of Pachaspata to camp on the banks of the Qomercocha lagoon. DAY 6: QOMERQOCHA LAGOON – PACCHANTA
Through spectacular high Andean landscapes we descend to the village of Pacchanta, down to the hot springs, where we will view of the imposing Ausangate Mountain where we will stay overnight. B / L / D
DAY 7: PACCHANTA -TINKI – CUSCO
After a brief tour through the some typical Andean landscape, we will arrive to Tinki where we will embark for our return to Cusco by bus. B / L
- Pick up from your hotel and private transportation by bus to Tinki to Cusco (round-trip).
- Double tents, mattresses, kitchen tent, dining tent, chairs, tables.
- Professional guide in English or Spanish language.
- First aid kit and oxygen tank.
- Horsemen and horses to carry (camping equipment and gear. Passengers can carry approximately 7 kilos per person)
- Sleeping tents for high altitude, inflatable mattresses
- Cook for the preparation of food.
